TEPPIA Investigation No. 1 - October 1st, 2008 - A Private Residence in Allentown, PA

     We were invited on behalf of TEPPIA member Andrea Scott to investigate an unassuming rowhome in the Allentown area. The occupants wish to remain anonymous but have given TEPPIA permission to post all relevent results pertaining to this investigation. Andrea, Steve, guest investigator Roseanne, and myself began the investigation a little before 7 in the evening. This investigation was held indoors in what at first appeared to be an unassuming home.

     The occupants reported that their son as well as visitors to the home experianced intense paranormal phenomenon in an upstairs bedroom for nearly a decade. Shadow beings would be seen as well as strange sounds could be heard. The room had been unoccupied despite being fully furnished as the activity had gotten to a point where nobody wished to sleep in the room.

     Andrea got an immediate sense of a heavy pressure on her chest and upon entering the room I noticed a strange sensation of emotional tension that only occured in this part of the house. As this bedroom seemed to be the epicenter of paranormal phenomenon, Steve set up a camcorder on a tripod facing the bedroom closet where it was reported paranormal activity was occuring as well. Immedietely in front of the camcorder he set up a Trifield meter and a tape recorder. For the first 20 minutes or so I set up a second tape recorder in the bathroom as strange images in the mirror have been reported. For the rest of the night I would have the recorder with me but figured it was a good idea to touch base with the bathroom which is located directly across from the haunted bedroom.

     The activity was interesting, despite there being nearly a dozen people in the home. As we took photos, an orb kept appearing but it seemed to wish to be left alone. We noticed that as we went upstairs or vise versa, and captured an image of the orb, it seemed to move to the opposite floor where we would photograph it again. It was as if the spirit was playing a game of tag with us during the course of the investigation. Activity was not only documented in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom, but also in the living room and down in the basement area.

     Andrea received a strong EMF reading in the upstairs hallway with an ELFLX meter that I had given her. Meanwhile, Roseanne took a photograph on the staircase of a large orb hovering over the stairs against the wall. EVP was difficult to make out due to the large amount of people in the home but both Andrea and myself were in the upstairs bedroom alone while it was quiet in an attempt to document EVP. Later on, Sheila and I would do the same. During this time the spirit identified itself on tape by saying "It's Mike", in response to myself asking any spirits in the bedroom to speak.

     The most interesting event of the evening, and one that most certainly shows the spirit's possilby aggressive motives, was in the basement. Andrea had brought her son along and he said something had punched him. His arm turned red and sure enough, sometime later, a bruise appeared. He said he did not bump and brush up against any object nor was this somehow caused before the investigation began. It is possible this entity, Michael, was sending a clear message to us that he did not want us there.

     As for the personality of the spirit in the home, I felt it may have been a person who was very antisocial and withdrawn in life and is still doing so in death. The fact that the orb photos showed an entity that moved to the opposite floors we were on was evidence it did not wish to be bothered by the living. It is my theory that this spirit has claimed the upstairs bedroom as it's own private space. Whether the person died and/or lived in the room is unknown as we still are not sure as to who "Mike" is. The spirit avoided us for the better part of the time but we did get to capture his voice and he did respond to my question as you will hear below in the recordings section.

     Still, the fact it displayed the ability to "attack" Andrea's son has left the occupants feeling concerned as to the spirit's motives. Perhaps we finally boxed the spirit in and it lashed out or perhaps it was a way of venting frustration. Back to the upstairs. Steve reported the spirit's voice was captured on his camcorder saying "Bury me" as well as saying "I am already here" when the room was vacant. Unfortunetely due to the size of the file and the servers limitations we are unable to load that video clip at this time. Our investigation ended at a little before 9:30 in the evening and we viewed it as an interesting success. The spirit identifying itself, proving it wished to be left alone by playing "floor tag", and then possibly leaving the bruise on the arm of Andrea's son. It made for an interesting evening!

     To conclude, their is no doubt in our minds that this home is experiancing genuine paranormal phenomenon which was not only backed up by vocal, visual, and EMF findings but by the strange brusing phenomenon. Out of all the investigations I have conducted since 1998 and in private homes over the last several years, I have never seen such a phenomenon first hand and this indicates a rare occurance where a "cleansing" of the property may be needed. Andrea did bless the property with Annointed Oil but we feel a cleansing by TEPPIA or a minister would be of great help to the occupant's peace of mind and at giving Mike the guidance he needs to cross over to the other side.
